What's Tantric Vinyasa I hear you say?

Sorry to disappoint, but it's clothes on my friend, clothes on! The word Tantra has become synonymous with sex in the West (surprise, surprise) but the powerful sexual techniques of Tantra are only part of the story.

Tantra is a broad range of practical teachings leading to the expansion of consciousness. The unifying principle is that our worldly experiences can be utilised to attain enlightenment. Within these teaching are the use of "mantras (vibrational tuning through sounds),  yantras (concentration symbols to liberate the consciousness), chakras (realisation of psychic centres), mandalas  (perception of macrocosmos in microcosmos),  tapasya (practices of self-purification), Raja Yoga (integral yoga),  pranayama (yogic breathing practices), self surrender,  shaktipat  (transmission of energy) and tantric initiations ( master to disciple)" - Bihar Yoga

My yoga and meditation classes are for everyone.

Old, young, chubby, skinny, bendy, stiff, male, female, trans, carnivore, herbivore, happyvore (actually don't eat the happy people please) It's for you if you like heart centred, soul affirming & fun - come as you are. I like to work with the yogic concept of Santosha in my yoga and meditation practice. It's the Sanskrit term for 'contentment', meaning 'accepting what is'. In this way, I encourage you to just accept where you are at in your yoga practice, loving your body as it is. I feel this encourages happy and healthy progression in the asana, and in the mind.

My classes are both dynamic and deep.  Tantric Vinyasa unites dynamic vinyasa style with traditional Hatha yoga.  The session ususally begins with dynamic chakra-inspired standing sequences, linking breath and movement.  Later in the session asana are held for longer and the approach is more meditative, chakra-focused and  internalised.

Essentially it's a combination of Yang (active) and Yin (receptive) styles, creating a powerful yoga practice that honours the balance and importance of the physical & spiritual.

The knowledge and experience of the chakra system is paramount in the teaching of Tantric Vinyasa, the transmission of this understanding allows the student to engage fully in the essence of Tantra in yog asana: awakening ourselves to our fullest potential.

When we work with breath and movement we deepen our connection to our physical body, when we work with stabilising and focusing the movements of the mind we deepen our connection to our higher self and beyond.

This is the goal of Yoga and this is the practice of Tantric Vinyasa.

There are many different styles of meditation and visualisation available. Benefits include

Sometimes you need a little help to tune in to the divine energy that lives inside you so you can feel deeply relaxed and get some respite from a crazy schedule, constant mind chatter, or niggling worries. Other times, you can receive transformational guidance from your guides, Angels and higher self to heal the cause of your anxiety, a broken heart, or have the courage to go for your dreams.

Many people tell me I have a very healing, calming voice. As a trained energy healer, I do believe healing frequencies can be transmitted through sound and voice, especially when the practitioner is in an expanded state of awareness. It is from this place that I have co created my online programmes and downloads - with prayer, intention and meditation.
